Copies machine settings from a disk or USB memory stick
This command is used to quickly and easily set up an "off-line" computer (one not connected to an GlobalMAX) with the same settings used by your GlobalMAX machine. This allows accurate time and abrasive estimates without tying up the controller computer.
The original settings for Watcher (whether it is enabled or not, or what shared file it uses) are preserved when you import the settings. This ensures that settings for Watcher that may have been appropriate for the original computer but are now inappropriate for the new computer, do not transfer over and conflict. (For example, one might be configured to send data to a shared network folder on the GlobalMAX for monitoring the machine, but on the office PC you don’t want to use that folder, and for that matter, you don’t even want to send status data from your office PC.)
After the machine settings have been exported to a disk or removable memory device, take it to your off-line computer. Select this command and the settings will be copied from the memory device to the computer. You will need to select the memory device to copy from--this lets you copy the settings to a USB memory stick, or other removable memory device. The Import Settings wizard can also import settings backed up in Tech Support Reports. Simply choose the Tech Support Report .zip file to import from.
MAKE must be restarted before the settings take effect.
