How to use Copy

1. Use the Select command to select the entities you want to copy.

If at least one entity is not selected when you click the Copy button, then all entities in your drawing are automatically selected.

The Snap toolbar appears. Use these tools to specify where the starting point will be.

NOTE:

You can also left-click anywhere on the drawing to specify a starting point.

3. Specify the location of the ending point for the copy, using the Snap toolbar.

A displacement for the copy can also be entered in the Specify Displacement dialog that appears. Enter either the length and angle of displacement, or the run and rise (slope).

The first copy will be displaced from the starting point to the ending point. Each subsequent copy will be displaced the same amount (and in the same direction) from the previous copy.

You can specify the displacement using this dialog

Click the small double-arrow button in the upper right of this dialog, and the positions of Length and Angle and of the Run and Rise will be reversed. Some people prefer to have the Angle entry on the left.

NOTE:

You can also click anywhere on the drawing to specify an ending point.

4. Enter the number of copies you want.

Each copy will be offset by the same amount and in the same direction from the previous copy.
