Select the zero point
The Zero snap selects the zero point as the location for the point. When a drawing is started, the zero point is always the lower left hand corner of the grid. The zero point may be changed using the Set Zero command.
Use the XY Pos snap to specify a point relative to the zero point.
The "absolute zero" point (the lower left hand corner of the grid) may be chosen by right-clicking on the Zero snap. A menu appears which offers the choice of using the local zero (set with the Set Zero command), or absolute zero.
The Zero snap right-click menu
Where you draw your part in LAYOUT does not represent where it will be machined on the actual table. When you make the part, the nozzle is moved to the start point of the tool path.
